Marstrands IBK was one of 72 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2017. They participated with four teams in Pojkar 10 (2006), Pojkar 15 (2001), Herrar and Damer respectively. Two teams played until 1/4 Final in Slutspel; Herrar lost against IBF Älvstranden by 2-4 and Damer lost against Tvåstad KIK by 0-2.

In addition to this, Marstrands IBK have participated in Göteborg Cup Innebandy before. During Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016, Marstrands IBK had 4 teams playing in Pojkar 10 (2005), Pojkar 14 (2001), Herrar and Damer respectively. Two teams played until in Gruppspel; Damer 1 won over IBF Backadalen by 2-0 but Herrar .

Marstrands IBK comes from Kungälv which lies approximately 21 km from Göteborg, where Göteborg Cup Innebandy takes place. The area around Kungälv does also provide 22 additional clubs participating during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2017 (Among others: Lindås Waves IBK, FBC Vinga, IBF Backadalen, IBF Älvstranden, Surte IS IBK, Floda IBK, Partille IBS, Mölndals IBF, Särö Seahawks IBK and Sävedalens IBK).
