Linköping IBK was one of 81 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016. They participated with two teams in Pojkar 14 (2001) and Pojkar 15 (2000) respectively. The team in Pojkar 15 (2000) made it to the the Final in Slutspel, but lost it against Partille IBS by 1-2.

In addition to this, Linköping IBK have participated in Göteborg Cup Innebandy before. During Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2015, Linköping IBK had 4 teams playing in Pojkar 13 (2001), Pojkar 14 (2000) and Pojkar 15 (1999) respectively. The team in Pojkar 14 (2000) made it to the the Final in Slutspeland won it over Salems IF Lila by 4-3.

Linköping IBK comes from Linköping which lies approximately 230 km from Göteborg, where Göteborg Cup Innebandy takes place. The area around Linköping does also provide five additional clubs participating during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016 (Linköping Innebandy, Bergs IK, Linköping IBK Ungdom, BK Vingen and Linköping IBK HJ 20).
