Värmdö IS was one of 81 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016. They participated with one team in Herrar.

In addition to Värmdö IS, 21 other teams played in Herrar. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof Värmdö IS could be found in Group C together with IK Zenith 2, IBF Älvstranden, Marstrands IBK and Sportlife Kungälv IBK.

Värmdö IS continued to Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group C. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Mölndals IBF with 0-2. In the Final, FBC Lerum won over IK Zenith 2 and became the winner of Slutspel in Herrar.

Värmdö IS comes from Värmdö which lies approximately 420 km from Göteborg, where Göteborg Cup Innebandy takes place. The area around Värmdö does also provide 10 additional clubs participating during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016 (Åkersberga IBF, Rotebro IS IBK, Älvsjö IBK, FBI Tullinge, Vaxholms IBF, Nacka Wallenstam IBK, FARSTA IBK, Sköndals IK, Bele Barkarby IF and Råsunda IS).
