Stenungsunds IBK was one of 81 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016. They participated with four teams in Pojkar 12 (2003), Pojkar 15 (2000), Herrar and Flickor 10 (2005) respectively. The team in Pojkar 15 (2000) made it to the the in Gruppspel, but lost it against Bergs IK by 0-3.

In addition to this, Stenungsunds IBK have participated in Göteborg Cup Innebandy before. During Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2015, Stenungsunds IBK had two teams playing in Herrar. The team in Herrar made it to the the Final in Slutspel, but lost it against IBK Alingsås by 0-4.

Stenungsunds IBK comes from Stenungsund which lies approximately 41 km from Göteborg, where Göteborg Cup Innebandy takes place. The area around Stenungsund does also provide 10 additional clubs participating during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016 (IK Zenith, Marstrands IBK, IBF Älvstranden, IBF Backadalen, Sportlife Kungälv IBK, Herrestads AIF, Kärra IBK, Myggenäs IBK, IBK Walkesborg and Surte IS IBK).
