Fristad GoIF was one of 81 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016. They participated with three teams in Flickor 15 (2000), Damjuniorer 18 (1997-98) and Damer respectively. The team in Damer made it to the the Final in Slutspeland won it over Åkersberga IBF 1 by 2-0.

In addition to this, Fristad GoIF have participated in Göteborg Cup Innebandy before. During Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2015, Fristad GoIF had three teams playing in Flickor 14 (2000), Damjuniorer 18 (1996-97) and Damer respectively. The team in Damer made it to the the in Gruppspel, but lost it against FBC Lerum by 0-1.

Fristad GoIF comes from FRISTAD which lies approximately 64 km from Göteborg, where Göteborg Cup Innebandy takes place. Other than Fristad GoIF, the club Borås IBF does also originate from the area around FRISTAD.
