Mölndals IBF was one of 72 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2017. They participated with two teams in Pojkar 14 (2002) and Damjuniorer 18 (1998-99) respectively. The team in Damjuniorer 18 (1998-99) made it to the the in Gruppspeland won it over BKI Sunnanå by 3-0.

In addition to this, Mölndals IBF have participated in Göteborg Cup Innebandy before. During Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016, Mölndals IBF had two teams playing in Herrjuniorer 18 (1997-98) and Herrar respectively. The team in Herrjuniorer 18 (1997-98) made it to the the Final in Slutspeland won it over Arlanda IBK by 5-1.

Mölndals IBF comes from Mölndal which lies approximately 6 km from Göteborg, where Göteborg Cup Innebandy takes place. The area around Mölndal does also provide 23 additional clubs participating during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2017 (Among others: Lindås Waves IBK, FBC Vinga, Varla/Sandö IBK, IBF Backadalen, IBF Älvstranden, Surte IS IBK, Floda IBK, Partille IBS, Särö Seahawks IBK and Sävedalens IBK).
