IBF Göteborg was one of 81 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016. They participated with 7 teams in Pojkar 10 (2005), Pojkar 11 (2004), Pojkar 12 (2003), Pojkar 13 (2002) and Pojkar 14 (2001) respectively. The team in Pojkar 14 (2001) made it to the the Final in Slutspel, but lost it against Salems IF 2 by 2-4.

In addition to this, IBF Göteborg have participated in Göteborg Cup Innebandy before. During Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2015, IBF Göteborg had 4 teams playing in Pojkar 10 (2004), Pojkar 13 (2001), Pojkar 15 (1999) and Pojkar 16 (1998) respectively. The team in Pojkar 16 (1998) made it to the the 1/4 Final in Slutspel, but lost it against Bergs IK by 4-5.

IBF Göteborg originates from Göteborg, which is the same city as where Göteborg Cup Innebandy takes place. The area around Göteborg does also provide 24 additional clubs participating during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016 (Among others: Lindås Waves IBK, Sävedalens IBK, FBC Lerum, IK Zenith, Partille IBS, Marstrands IBK, IBK Göteborg, Lindome IBK, IBF Älvstranden and Pixbo Wallenstam IBF).
