Åkersberga IBF was one of 81 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016. They participated with 5 teams in Flickor 13 (2002), Damjuniorer 18 (1997-98) and Damer respectively. The team in Damer made it to the the Final in Slutspel, but lost it against Fristad GoIF by 0-2.

In addition to this, Åkersberga IBF have participated in Göteborg Cup Innebandy before. During Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2015, Åkersberga IBF had two teams playing in Flickor 14 (2000) and Flickor 16 (1998) respectively. The team in Flickor 16 (1998) made it to the the Final in Slutspel, but lost it against Lindome IBK by 0-2.
