IBF Backadalen was one of 72 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2017. They participated with 15 teams in 11 out of Göteborg Cup Innebandys all 17 categories. Three teams played until 1/4 Final in Slutspel; Pojkar 16 (2000) lost against Linköping IBK by 1-2, Flickor 16 (2000-01) lost against Surte IS IBK by 2-3 and Herrar lost against Pixbo Wallenstam IBF by 1-2.

In addition to this, IBF Backadalen have participated in Göteborg Cup Innebandy before. During Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2016, IBF Backadalen had 13 teams playing in 11 out of Göteborg Cup Innebandys all 18 categories. The team in Pojkar 14 (2001) made it to the the in Gruppspel, but lost it against Nacka Wallenstam IBK by 0-4.

IBF Backadalen comes from Hisings Backa which lies approximately 5 km from Göteborg, where Göteborg Cup Innebandy takes place. The area around Hisings Backa does also provide 25 additional clubs participating during Göteborg Cup Innebandy 2017 (Among others: Lindås Waves IBK, FBC Vinga, Varla/Sandö IBK, IBF Älvstranden, Surte IS IBK, Floda IBK, Partille IBS, Mölndals IBF, Särö Seahawks IBK and Sävedalens IBK).
